Who
Was Charles Haanel And What is The Master Key
System?
 Charles
F. Haanel (1866-1949) was an eminent American
businessman who, having built one of the largest
companies in the world at that time, authored
several books sharing his life and business success
philosophy and techniques.
His
first work "The Master Key System" written
sometime between 1909 and 1912 was a 24 part course
delivered to readers over 24 weeks.
His
students were the most prominent businessmen of
that era and his course reportedly sold for
US$1500, which at the time was equivalent to 2
years salary for the average worker!
Fable
has it that the businessmen who studied his course
all became extremely wealthy and petitioned Haanel
not to release the course to the general public,
lest they might also make use of it's powerful
secrets.
However,
Haanel did eventually make the course available
to the general public in the form of a book which
was published in 1919.
The
book reportedly sold
over 200,000 copies before supposedly being banned
by the church in 1933. When you read the book
you will instantly understand why it had the Church
Hierarchy worried and in fear of losing their
religious, and highly lucrative monopoly on "God
and all matters Spiritual"
At
that point the book seems to have disappeared
from records, although a handful of the 200,000
original copies are probably still in existence.
His
other books were Mental Chemistry (1922), The
New Psychology (1924), A Book about You (1928)
and The Amazing Secrets of The Yogi (1937). There
were several other papers of his found over the
years and more recently published as the Master
Key Arcana.

Charles F. Haanel is largely associated
with the business interests of the city,
being affiliated with a number of enterprises
of acknowledged financial worth.
Beside
being president of the Continental Commercial
Company he is also president of the Sacramento
Valley Improvement Company and president
of the Mexico Gold & Silver Mining Company.
Mr.
Haanel is in every sense of the word a self-made
man, having risen in the commercial world
to his present station of worth and prominence
by the utilization of his own natural resources.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May 22, 1866,
he is the son of Hugo and Emeline (Fox)
Haanel, who removed with him to St. Louis
when he was in early childhood. He initiated
himself into the business world as an office
boy for the National Enameling & Stamping
Company.
For
this company he worked for a period of fifteen
years.
Finally he resigned his position with this
firm and being ambitious to rise higher
in the financial world, he conceived the
idea of organizing a company for the purpose
of promoting an enterprise.
At
that time, the vicinity of Tehuantepec,
Mexico was reputed as being especially adapted
to the growth of sugar and coffee. He succeeded
in convincing a number of capitalists of
the feasibility of taking up land in that
section of the country and working a plantation.
The
land was purchased and the company organized
to engage in the raising of sugar and coffee.
Of this company he was made president.
The plantation was successful from the beginning
and soon became an enterprise of considerable
financial worth.
This
was organized in 1898 and in 1905 Mr. Haanel
organized the Continental Commercial Company,
which was consolidated with the other company
and also absorbed six additional companies.
It is now operating under the name of the
Continental Commercial Company with Mr.
Haanel as president.
It
is capitalized for two million five hundred
thousand dollars, and is one of the largest
of its kind in the world.
Mr. Haanel has by no means confined his
efforts to these lines, however, but has
extended his labors to other enterprises
with which he is associated in a prominent
capacity.
He
was one of the organizers of the Sacramento
Valley Improvement Company and from the
beginning has been its president. Since
its inception the company has enjoyed an
era of prosperity and now owns and controls
the largest Tokay vineyards in the world.
He
is likewise president of the Mexico Gold
& Silver Mining Company, a company of
some importance in developing the rich mineral
resources of the southern republic.
In 1885 Mr. Haanel was united in marriage
with Miss Esther M. Smith. Sixteen years
later he was left a widower with one son
and two daughters, and in July, 1908, he
was married to Miss Margaret Nicholson of
St. Louis, a daughter of W. A. Nicholson.
While Mr. Haanel is a Republican, his pressing
business interests have given him no time
to take an active interest in politics beyond
that of casting his vote and using his influence
for the election of the candidates of the
party in whose principles he firmly believes.
He is a member of Keystone lodge, a thirty-second
degree Mason and a Shriner. He is also affiliated
with the Missouri Athletic Club.
He is a man of mature judgment, capable
of taking a calm survey of life and correctly
valuing its opportunities, its possibilities,
its demands and obligations.
He
has wisely sought success along the lines
of least resistance and yet when difficulties
and obstacles have confronted him he has
displayed a force of character that has
enabled him to overcome them and continue
on the pathway to prosperity.
Many
a man whose life is one of untiring industry
does not win success for he lacks the complement
to industry a laudable ambition which prompts
the individual to reach out into other fields
and eagerly grasp the opportunities that
are presented.
In
these qualities Mr. Haanel is richly endowed
and has thus attained his present enviable
position in financial circles.

Fast
forward to the modern era...
The
old adage that you can't put a good book down
seems to ring true in this case.
Again
surrounded by mystery and mystique the book seems
to have resurfaced in the late 1970's and early
1980's in either it's original letter form or
in the book form.
Rumor
has it that whilst at Harvard, Bill Gates got
hold of a copy of the Master Key System and was
so influenced by it's transformational power that
he dropped out of university and followed his
dream to put a computer on every desk and more
recently in every home. But the speculation does
not stop there...
According
to urban business legend the leaders of every
successful company that came out of Silicon Valley
also got hold of a copy and put the principles
to work for them. Apparently, the original copies
changed hands at handsome prices, that is, if
you could get hold of one.
Despite
the fact that this book was so very powerful and
seemed to have a life of it's own, it still remained
in only a very few private hands until just on
the turn of the millennium.
This time the book morphed into digital format
and surfaced in cyber space.
Despite
the fact that it is now available on a handful
of web sites and also in paperback copy, this
is the only web site where you can find it in
"Audio Book" format.
Could
Charles Haanel have possibly known when he wrote
"The Master Key System", that it would
have such such a powerful, positive and lasting
impact on so many lives, over such a period of
time?
The
"Think and Grow Rich" Connection
Charles
Haanel's philosophies are found almost everywhere
you turn and probably one of the better known
proponents of his success teachings is none other
than Napoleon Hill, author of "Think and
Grow Rich".

Dear Mr.Haanel
You
probably know, from the editorial in the
January issue of the Golden Rule, copy of
which my Secretary sent to you, that I began
twenty-two years ago as a coal miner at
a dollar a day.
I
have just been retained by a ten million
dollar corporation at a salary of $105,200.00
a year, for a portion of my time only, it
having been agreed that I shall continue
as editor of the Hill's Golden Rule.
I
believe in giving credit where it is due,
therefore I believe I ought to inform
you that my present success and the success
which has followed my work as President
of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely
to the principles laid down in The Master-Key
System.
You
are doing a good work by helping people
to realize that nothing is impossible of
accomplishment which a man can create in
his imagination. Surely my own experience
proves this.
I
shall cooperate with you in getting your

The
Law of Attraction is one of the Universal or Natural
Laws of this Universe. Like gravity or electricity,
it works with mathematical certainty. It is energy
in motion.

you are consciously or unconsciously focusing
on in your life, you will attract more of, to
you. Your inner world defines your outer physical
experience.
Your
job, when you have awoken from the "adamic
dream", is to take control of both your conscious
and unconscious minds and to focus them both on
what you would like to experience from life.

Your
subconscious mind is your operating system and
is filled with beliefs and values which unconsciously
direct your experiences. It is your inner world.
Your
conscious mind is the only tool that you have
to change the content of your subconscious mind.
Each
habit that you desire to acquire must be put into
your subconscious mind by focusing on it for whatever
period of time it takes to create a new subconscious
habit. When you have a new subconscious habit
that you are happy with you can move onto the
next thing that you wish to master.
A
new habit takes about 30 days to acquire, so there
are a limited amount of habits that you can acquire
in your life time , so choose well what you want
to achieve and then input the habits .
Habits
form your character.
You
are your habits.
Who
you think you are is simply the sum of the predominant
programs in your subconscious.
You
cannot delete a habit that you no longer desire,
you can only input a new habit that you wish to
acquire and which will override the old unwanted
habit.
Some
habits are easy and some are not so easy to acquire.
If you have any addictive behaviors then overcoming
those will require discipline and single minded
determination.
An
addictive behaviour is anything that you do without
consciously choosing to do it.
You
vision for your life is the map which your subconscious
will follow.
If
you have no vision you will merely be playing
out what you don’t want on a daily basis,
or someone else's plan for your life.
Generally
you know what you don’t want because it
is not you. It is the habits and beliefs that
were given to you by other people.
Once
you are awake you can work to override what is
not you with what is you.
Your
feelings will guide you. If something feels good
then it is for you , if something feels bad then
it is not you.
There
are really only two feelings, good and bad. Take
action to override the bad with what makes you
feel good. You will know the right moves to make
by developing your intuition , or your sixth sense.
This
is your spirit communicating to you through your
subconscious mind.
Your
spirit is also you.
Learn
to quieten you conscious mind so that you can
receive messages from your subconscious mind.
Communication
with your subconscious mind is like learning a
language.
You
need to be able to clearly communicate what you
want in a way that your subconscious mind understands
and takes action to focus you on what you want
so that the law of attraction can bring it to
you.
And
you need to be able to understand what your subconscious
mind is communicating to you so that you can direct
your conscious mind to forming new habits and
focusing on what it is that will manifest your
desires for you.
That
is it.
That
is the game of life.
Your
soul has a purpose and when you find that purpose
you will be in mind body spirit harmony .You will
be "Living your Bliss".
As
we all know, changing can be difficult. Some things
are easy but others are like climbing a mountain.
That is because the things that you want to change
are a part of you and you need to bring in a new
part that is not yet you so that it becomes you.
Every
one is different. No two people are the same because
no two people have the same content in their minds,
the same experiences... the same programs running
them or the same soul purpose.
So
no one solution is going to work for all people
.
There
will be things that you do which will give you
shifts and take you onto the next challenge .
Life is like a never ending mountain with a series
of climbs and plateaus . Some of the climbs are
steeper than others and some of the plateaus are
shorter than others but it never stops, so the
enjoyment of life comes from enjoying the journey.
The
journey is the reward and the goals achieved are
like birthday presents. They will give you happiness
enjoying them, for a while , but then you will
need new challenges to encourage your passion.
You
can find your purpose in life and when you do
find your purpose you will enjoy every day as
you will be doing what you are loving to do.
Most
of the world does not enjoy what they do or how
they live and so find no passion in daily life.
They
react rather than choose what they want to do.
They follow other people's dreams.
If
you decide to find your passion and follow it
then you will find the means of finding it.
Going
Beyond Restriction is Done Consciously
This
is not a five minute job so you need to take action
and use your feelings to determine whether or
not your current steps are making sense and are
leading you towards the life you want to live.
Most
people struggle because they do not understand
that they are the creator of their lives. They
do not understand that in time they can have everything
they want so they take out debts to buy things
that they use to make them feel temporarily better
about themselves and their circumstances.
But
as we all know this does not last, it is a temporarily
fix to the problem and and once the euphoria of
the new toy has worn off they are more restricted
and tied into their old situation because they
now have to pay for what they have already had
pleasure from.
If
you truly want to be free and find your passion
you have to free yourself from borrowing energy
and raise your own energy.
The
more you free yourself the more life force you
become and the more negative habits you replace
with habits that you want, the less cluttered
your mind becomes and the easier it is to move
in the right direction.
The
more life force you become the quicker you will
experience your desires and the quicker your good
will come to you. You will experience your true
nature as a deliberate, conscious creator.
Ask
yourself "is what I am doing now or what
I plan to do, taking me closer to or further away
from living my purpose and my life with fun and
passion".
Ask
and you will find the answers!
Who
can help you on your journey?
Ultimately
it is only you who can help yourself. Make a stand
wherever you have fallen or wherever you find
yourself now.
When
you come across someone offering you anything
ask yourself.
"Will
learning and using this take me closer to or further
away from living my purpose and life with passion".

self knows what to do . Your feelings tell the
